Jewellery: Cuttlefish Casting, Fly Press, Fold-Forming and Stone Setting
This Jewellery degree will allow you to explore the plasticity of metal by moving, stretching, stamping, texturing or forming.
This jewellery course will offer an opportunity to learn and develop an intermediate level of casting, fold forming, fly press and stone setting.
You will experience both the delicate operation of repeatedly forging, annealing and unfolding metal to create fold-forming investigations and will also discover the more heavy duty possibilities of the fly press to punch, coin, bend, slot, tube end form, dimple or edge fold small scale jewellery pieces.
This course also gives an introduction to stone setting and the technique of using the shell of a cuttlefish to cast jewellery.
