Georgina Scott Sutherland Learning Centre

Located in the heart of the University Campus, the Georgina Scott Sutherland Learning Centre is Robert Gordon University’s newest open study space.

If you like to study with a bit of a buzz around you, or if you’re looking for somewhere to work with your friends, then check out the Georgina Scott Sutherland Learning Centre located within the Riverside Building. Designed with a student-centred focus, the Learning Centre provides informal, comfortable study areas to all students on campus, encouraging collaborative learning and group study.

If you’re planning to visit the Learning Centre please ensure you abide by all Covid-19 restrictions and notices. This may include social distancing and the use of face coverings. The Learning Centre is an unstaffed area so the onus is on students to abide by all notices and guidelines.

Within the Learning Centre there are PCs, study seats, group tables and printers. There are also bookable Project Pods and group rooms. The group rooms are fully equipped with a PC, large screen display, flipchart and whiteboard. The Project Pods are sofa style seating with an IT hub that includes a PC, large screen monitor, keyboard and mouse. You can also connect your own laptop to the IT hub. Students can use these rooms and Pods without a booking, but please check the daily booking sheets next to each space before doing so.

Although the Learning Centre can be used for solo study, if you prefer a quieter environment then consider studying in the Library. The Library layout ensures that it is well set up for quiet individual study and is a great place to get your head down and get that assignment finished.

The Learning Centre is managed by the Library team so please direct any enquiries to library@rgu.ac.uk
