RGU’s ABS programmes accredited by the Energy Institute
Robert Gordon University’s (RGU) Aberdeen Business School has received worthy commendation from a high profile Energy Institute Accreditation Panel for the relevance of the programme to industry, strong alumni network, staff openness to change and development of the programmes and the Capstone module.

The MBA Oil and Gas Management (full-time, part-time and distance learning); MSc Energy Management and MSc Oil and Gas Accounting and Finance – all taught at Aberdeen Business School – have been accredited by the Energy Institute for MEI and an additional accreditation for Chartered Energy Manager for the MSc Energy Management programme.

The Energy Institute (EI) is the professional membership body bringing global energy expertise together.

Dr Ayodele Asekomeh, senior lecturer at ABS who played a key role in the EI Accreditation visit, said: “This accreditation and the retention of our EI Learning Affiliate status demonstrates the continued relevance and contemporariness of our courses in the energy and oil and gas space, offering several benefits to our current students and a selling point to our prospective students.

“The EI is a quality symbol in the energy sector globally and our accreditation by them aligns nicely with Aberdeen Business School’s vision to develop professional thinkers and innovative contributors through business connected learning, award winning teaching and internationally recognised impactful research.”

RGU’s Aberdeen Business School was also recently accredited by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) which is the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools, and the largest business education network connecting students, educators and businesses worldwide.

AACSB Accreditation inspires new ways of thinking within business education globally and as a result, has only been earned by less than 5% of the world’s business schools.
