Final year Fashion and Textiles students at Gray’s School of Art will unveil their collections at the art school’s high-profile fashion show which will take place on Friday, May 12, and Saturday, May 13 at Robert Gordon University (RGU).
Gray’s will be transformed into a backdrop for the catwalk show, highlighting the range of creative talent being produced at the art school.
Students will showcase full and capsule collections on the catwalk, with the event providing a rare chance to glimpse the work ahead of the Gray’s School of Art Degree Show which runs from Saturday, June 17 to Saturday, June 24.
Head of Fashion and Textiles at Gray’s, Josie Steed, said: “The Gray’s Fashion Show is a highlight of the creative calendar in Aberdeen and we are always delighted by the number of people who turn out to support it.
“Our students work incredibly hard to be able to put on the event and they never fail to organise an exciting, professional and thought-provoking night. If people want to see Scotland’s up and coming fashion talent then this is the perfect opportunity.”
Student, Sarah Murphy, will showcase her ‘Séduire’ final year work at the fashion show.
“Architecture is one of the main research elements for my final collection which involves flowing lines, strong linear elements and curving staircases. This, coupled with the addition of historical foundation garments, my collection, ‘Séduire’ is a combination of contemporary buildings and lingerie from the past.
“Like all runway shows, the Graduate Fashion Show at Gray’s gives me a rewarding platform to present my work and craftsmanship and I am now looking forward to graduating and am excited for what the course has led me on to.”
Tickets for the fashion shows, which will take place at RGU’s Gray’s School of Art, Garthdee Road, at 6pm on Friday, May 12 and 1pm on Saturday, May 13, are priced at £12.50 and include a catalogue and refreshments.
