Spring Nursing Student Conference – Alumni Support
|Event Date:||Time:||9:00 PM — 12:00 AM|
The School of Nursing and Midwifery will be at the heart of European excellence in nursing education, research and cultural exchange when it hosts the next generation of nurses from across the continent in a prestigious conference this spring.
The University has been selected to host the 2012 Student Conference on behalf of the European Network of Nursing in Higher Education (ENNE) from 29 April – 5 May.
Representing 13 countries from across Europe, ENNE promotes the development of nurse education, professional practice and research. The annual conference provides the opportunity for the nurses of today and tomorrow to share learning about nurse education and practice in their countries and to work together to develop collaborative patient care plans.
On Thursday 3 May the University is hosting an evening of traditional Scottish entertainment for delegates and speakers at the Hilton Treetops that Nursing and Midwifery Alumni are also very welcome to attend. The evening will provide the opportunity to share experiences and ideas with nurses from across the globe whilst enjoying a two course meal, Scottish Highland dancing and a Ceilidh courtesy of the Flying Pieman. The evening commences at 7.30pm and costs £25.00 (incl. meal and all entertainment).
If you would like to come along to the evening, please email Avril Milne.
Some of the nurses that are coming to the Conference are from developing countries. While the University has made every effort to minimise costs, any additional funds that can be offered by business or our alumni to support these nurses attendance would be greatly received, however small the donation. The University will ensure that any donations are given to delegates most in need, enabling them to participate in the full programme of activities.
