Prescribing a ‘people approach’
A budding pharmacist studying at RGU has been recognised for her excellent communication and people skills by the official student organisation of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain.
Gillian Reid reached the semi-final of the British Pharmaceutical Students' Association (BPSA) Responding Systems competition in 2009 and represented RGU alongside her contemporaries from universities across the UK. She was tasked with a number of role-play challenges as part of the competition, responding to the symptoms of ‘patients' and counselling them on the appropriate product.
Gillian said: "I feel the focus on learning pharmacy in practice, rather than simply studying the theory at RGU has been really beneficial. I found the whole competition experience very worthwhile and feel I gained a great deal from both taking part and meeting students from other universities."
