MSc Accounting and Finance - Professional Top Up MSc

1. Overview

MSc Accounting and Finance - Professional Top Up is an online Masters top up course for Professionally Qualified Accountants.

This course is ideal for individuals who already have a Professional Accounting qualification from a recognised Accounting Body such as ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, ICAS or any other member of the GAA. 

2. What you will study

This top up course requires you to complete one module - Capstone - which is designed to provide you with an opportunity integrate Masters level knowledge and skills by independently working on a dissertation or business consultancy project within a degree related discipline.

Personal, professional and research skills will be developed through the course thereby enhancing your employment portfolio and setting you apart from other graduates in your field. 

On completion of the Capstone module, you will obtain a Masters qualification in Accounting and Finance.

3. How you will learn

You will study through our Campus Moodle virtual learning environment (VLE). Campus Moodle provides you with full open access to tutors and other class members. You will have the benefit of being part of a group of learners with the invaluable opportunity to participate in active, group-related learning within a supportive online community setting. 

The interactive virtual learning environment provides you with lecture and course materials including:

  • Virtual tutorials
  • Live chats

  • Up-to-date web technology for delivery methods
  • User friendly material 

Once you have received an offer for the course, you will be offered the opportunity to log into Campus Moodle for more information and to interact with staff and other applicants.

4. Entry Requirements

Applicants will be Professionally qualified and hold either a 2:2 undergraduate honours degree or its equivalent OR three years of relevant professional work experience.

English Language

Applicants whose first language is not English should have an IELTS of 6.5 overall, with no component lower than 5.5, or an equivalent.

6. Course Fees

Course fees are reviewed periodically and so are subject to change for new applicants. All tuition fees are fixed for the duration of a course at the rate confirmed in your offer letter. You will also be liable to pay a graduation fee of £40 before receiving a University award.

8. Prospects

Graduates will be able to make a career in the accounting sector, within banking/financial institutions, or in the fields of corporate finance, general management, and/or management consultancy. Graduates can also enter into academia, undertaking further research leading to PhDs.
