Creative CAD: Design & Produce Laser Cut Clock Designs at MAKE (Foundation | EXTRA)

1. Overview

This workshop will introduce you the creative possibilities of designing & laser cutting your own personal clock face design.

On this course students will have the opportunity to create their own custom clock design using cutting edge computer graphic & laser technology.

2. What you will study

Using your own images or designs, or even getting inspiration from the internet to work from.

You will be guided through the process from creating an original design in the computer, then translating that into a final wooden clock face design using a laser cutter.

The workshop will provide one timepiece + hands to each students but additional ones can be purchased if you wanted to make additional designs.

3. Entry Requirements

This course provides an excellent introduction for beginners. There are no formal entry requirements.

MAKE is a Aberdeen's first digital fabrication studio. It hosts a wide range of equipment that can help to turn your ideas into a reality. This is a fantastic creative opportunity for students to access laser cutting, Rapid Prototyping, digital tools, and design software.

MAKE aberdeen is hosted by RGU and supported by Aberdeen City Council, Creative Scotland and the UK Government Super Connected Cities programme.

All equipment provided by MAKE Aberdeen.

A complete health and safety induction will take place on commencement of the course.

Please note: due to it's location, there is no RGU onsite parking available for this course.
