Drilling engineers plan and supervise all aspects of the operations that are carried out in relation to the drilling of oil and gas wells.
This includes monitoring the costs and schedules of work, through administering contracts, engineering design, planning wells and supervising crew.
You will work with other professionals on a daily basis, such as geologists to monitor the progress of the drilling project.
Daily tasks might include liaising with specialist contractors and suppliers, designing and selecting well-heads, and ensuring compliance with environmental standards.
