Software Engineer

As a Software Engineer you will research, design and develop software that meets your client's needs. Following its development you will test and maintain the system. To be effective in this role, you will have knowledge of a number of computer programming languages and applications. Day to day, you may be involved in designing software programmes, investigating new technologies and working with clients and colleagues to ensure the effective performance of systems.

Typical starting salary: £19,500 - £26,000
Average UK salary range: £19,240 - £48,880

Games Developer

Games Developers are involved in the creation of games for computer consoles, mobile telephones, arcade games and ‘flash' games for the internet. In the creation of games, there a number if stages that you will go through, including designing its look, programming, animating characters and testing. There are a number of roles that you may be involved in, including quality testing, developing designs and producing audio features for the game.

Typical starting salary: £10,000 - £25,000
Average UK salary range: £19,240 - £48,880
