Swine Flu

All students should register with a Doctor (GP) under the National Health Service for all medical services. It is important to arrange this on arrival in Aberdeen to ensure you are covered in an emergency. This is a free service. More information on local practices can be found here.

Important Information about Swine Flu

The start of term provides an opportune time to remind you about the importance of being aware of the signs and symptoms of swine flu and the precautions you can take. Whilst the Government’s scientific advisors have significantly revised downwards the impact that swine flu is likely to have in the UK this coming winter, it is important to remember that if you have any particular concerns or want further information you should visit the University’s dedicated web page www.rgu.ac.uk/swineflu (which will be our main communications channel for keeping you up to date on recent developments) or the Student Services Department on 01224 262111.

What do I do in an emergency?
Only in extreme emergencies telephone 999 or use the Accident & Emergency Services at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary (ARI). Out of hours and at weekends you can telephone the Medical Practice you are registered with to hear advice on what to do in urgent situations. You can also contact NHS 24 for advice - tel: 08454 24 24 24.
