We offer a variety of ways for you to get support with your studies.

Appointments

We offer face-to-face, email and telephone appointments with our specialist study skills tutors. Appointments are available for both on-campus and distance learning students. Tutors provide advice on a variety of areas, including essay writing, report writing, critical thinking and time management. We also provide advice on maths, statistics and IT skills.

Face-to-Face appointments are normally held in the meeting rooms beside the Student Help Point on level 3 of the Faculty of Health and Social Care building.

Drop-ins

The drop-ins provide the opportunity to speak with a Writing and Study Skills Tutor for 20 minutes without arranging an appointment. During term time, the ‘Writing Clinic’ drop-in is held on a weekly basis in the GSS Learning centre. We also run a drop-in at the Gray’s School of Art during term time.

Workshops

We offer a comprehensive series of academic skills workshops through our StudyWise programme. These cover academic writing, study skills, maths and stats, English for academic purposes and IT skills.

The workshops run during term time and are available to all RGU students free of charge.
