English Language Support for International Students

We provide English Language support to international students throughout the year.

All students are expected to have reached a certain standard in English before beginning to study at Robert Gordon University. We do understand, however, that some students may need additional help with certain language skills.

Classes

Classes are held on a regular basis, or there is the option to attend individual tutorials. Classes are linked as closely as possible to the student's own field of study and particular emphasis is placed on the skills necessary to write academic texts and to use English in an academic context.

Year round one-to-one support

International students enrolled at the University can make individual appointments to see the language tutor for specific help with areas of their individual English language skills. Tutoring via email is also available.

Please note that we do not currently provide a proof-reading service for dissertations and theses.

Pre-Sessional Programme

If you do not have the required level of English to start your degree course at the University, you may wish to apply for our intensive English Language Pre-sessional Programme. The Pre-sessional Programme aims to increase your English Language level before you start studying for your degree course.
