Student IT Accounts - FAQs
Important information regarding your IT account.
Your student number/matriculation number is also your RGU logon ID or Username
New students are sent a logon ID and a temporary password when a place at the University is confirmed. The letter or email invites you to login to Your Gateway (http://www.rgu.ac.uk/yourgateway) to access information needed for starting your course.
Please note that this password is temporary and the first time you login to Your Gateway or other RGU service then you are required to change it. A window should appear prompting you to do this. Please follow the Password Guidelines below.
If you do not change your password and continue to use the temporary password issued to you then you will only have a handful of successful logons with that password and then you will be locked out.
Your logon ID and password gives you access to RGU services such as:
- Your Gateway
- CampusMoodle
- Student email
- Lab PCs around Campus
- RGU Wireless
- Student printing kiosks
Changing your password - password management
If you find that you're not prompted to change your password when first logging in, then you can go to the main Password Management tool to set a new password (https://password.rgu.ac.uk/pwm/index.jsp). Please follow the Password Guidelines below when using this service.
