King Street location.

Union Street is a 15-20 minute walk or 5 minutes by bus. The bus stop for buses to campus is just opposite the accommodation and the bus takes 35-40 minutes or a 1 hour 15 minute walk. There is a Tesco Express within 5 minutes’ walk and Morrisons is 10 minutes’ walk.

149 residents, solely for RGU. 

Room Types

78 standard rooms and 71 ensuite rooms, mostly in flats of 7 people sharing, with a few 3- and 4-person flats.

Site Layout

Seven 3 or 4-storey blocks, with three to five flats in each (no lift). Main site entrance, including access to car park, from St Peters Street via Spital (and additionally by foot from King Street). There are 18 x 7 bed flats (9 ensuite and 9 standard), 2 x 4 bed ensuite flats and 5 x 3 bed standard flats. 

Flat Facilities

Communal kitchen and lounge either open plan or separate, with either 3, 4 or 7 bedrooms accessed from corridor. 3-bed flats have one shared bathroom with sink, toilet and shower, 4-bed flats are all ensuite whilst 7 bed flats are either all en-suite or have 2 shared bathrooms (toilet, sink, shower).

Parking

 Onsite car park for residents only, accessed by parking barrier. Parking permits required and cost £280 per year (10% if paid upfront) plus a £50 deposit for the barrier key. Anyone requiring car parking should contact the Don St Office (libertyhouse-aberdeen@libertyliving.co.uk). External bike racks are also available.

Transport

Bus routes 1 and 2 from adjacent King Street direct to campus, 35-40 minutes via the city centre. The campus is about 75 minutes’ walk and the city centre is 15-20 minutes’ walk. Plan your route on Google Maps between St Peters Hall and the campus, or between St Peters Hall and the city centre.

Laundry

Coin-operated washers and tumble dryers available in a shared area on-site.

Internet

Wired and wireless availability, with speeds up to 20 Mb/s. Ethernet connections in bedrooms only (resident supplies own CAT5 cable) and wireless throughout the flat, for up to 3 devices. Speed and device quantity upgrades available from ASK4 for an extra charge.

Did you know?

  • If you’re sporty or outdoorsy, there’s lots going on locally including Aberdeen Sports Village, Transition Extreme, Linx Ice Arena and the beach all within 15 minutes’ walk.
  • Beds are larger than the normal single bed size, at 4ft wide instead of 3ft.
  • The bus stop is just outside the accommodation and is one of the first stops on the route to campus meaning you are more likely to get a seat – handy if you have portfolios or other bulky items to carry to campus with you.
  • A medium sized site just for RGU students with some 3 and 4 person flats as well as the normal 7 person flats.
  • Within easy walking distance of a number of shops and supermarkets on King Street including several supermarkets.
