Using UK Libraries
In addition to the services offered by our own library, you may also be able to request materials from other libraries or to gain access to other libraries.
How can I request photocopies of items not available in RGU Library?
If you require a photocopy of a journal article or book chapter not available in our collection, we may be able to obtain it through the inter-library loan service.
Can I borrow items from other UK higher education libraries?
RGU is a member of SCONUL Access, which allows many university library users to borrow or use books and journals at other libraries which belong to the scheme. Over 170 higher education libraries in the UK and Ireland are members.
If your library account is in good standing we will send you an email to authorise your application. You can then print the email and take it with your RGU student or staff card to the library or libraries you wish to use.
Can I use any other libraries in the UK?
Check with your local public library in case they offer additional support to distance learning students.
Can I access libraries outside the UK?
As an RGU student you have access to an extensive range of electronic resources, databases and eBooks. However, if you wish to check other library resources in your area the following sites are a good place to start:
