Wifi is available across the university by accessing the eduroam service or our RGU Guest network.
Staff and students
Staff and students who wish to connect to wifi on our Garthdee Campus can do so by using the eduroam service.
This service also provides staff and students with authenticated access at participating eduroam sites.

Visiting Eduroam users
Our services are accessible via eduroam.
If you are visiting RGU from an institution that participates in the eduroam scheme, you can connect to the “eduroam” SSID however you are required to configure your device in advance while at your home institution. While connected to RGU’s eduroam service you should use the credentials supplied by your home institution.
Guest access (non-eduroam users)
For external visitors without eduroam The Cloud wifi service is available across Garthdee and the city centre.
- Select ‘The Cloud’ from the available network list
- Open your internet browser – The Cloud landing page will appear. If it is your first time using The Cloud wifi network, follow the simple one-time registration process OR log in.
If you experience problems getting online with The Cloud while on the RGU Campus, visit www.thecloud.net/support
The Cloud offers free internet access for 3 hours total per day per device on the RGU Campus (except where special access may be arranged for Events – check with your Event coordinator).
University staff and students should use the secure and constantly free eduroam wireless service instead.
Guest wireless accounts may be set up for external users under certain circumstances, these requests should be logged with the Helpdesk by a staff member. Call (ext. 2777) or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Wifi in student accommodation
Woolmanhill, Crathie Student Village and Garthdee flats:
Wifi is available in student accommodation provided by Robert Gordon University.
