Research - About our research

The focus at Robert Gordon University is on applied research. As an integral part of our purpose, this adds knowledge to our staff and students, and provides tangible benefits to the wider economy and society.

The University has invested significantly in its research activities, dramatically increasing both the number and quality of researchers.

RGU has world class researchers in allied health professions, computer science, engineering, architecture, accounting and finance, business and management, library and information management, and art and design.

To further develop the excellent research that was identified in RAE2008, Robert Gordon University has launched three Research Institutes.

The Research Assessment Exercise (RAE)

The RAE assess the quality of research in UK higher education institutions. RAE outcomes are used to allocate university research funding.
