Practical and Professional

A new school of Pharmacy and Life Sciences has been created with the merger of two existing schools, the Schools of Pharmacy and Life Sciences at RGU. The new school is the second largest in the University in terms of student numbers and is led by Professor Terry Healey. Plans are underway to move the new school into a purpose built, multi-million pound facility at RGU’s Garthdee Campus by 2014.

The new school already has an impressive track record with seven courses accredited by professional bodies including the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain, the Forensic Science Society, the Nutrition Society and the Health Professions Council – one of the reasons why graduates from the school are in such high demand from employers.

Nevertheless this merger means that teaching and research provision can be further developed and enhanced with the bringing together of strengths in biomedical sciences, analytical and medicinal chemistry, forensic science, nutrition and dietetics, pharmacy practice and the pharmaceutical sciences.
