Within the school, Professor Cairns leads the strategic planning, coordination, development and supervision of academic work in the areas of pharmacy, biomedical sciences, forensic and analytical science; and nutrition and dietetics.

The School has an impressive portfolio of seven courses accredited or approved by professional bodies. These include the General Pharmaceutical Council, the Forensic Science Society, the Nutrition Society and the Health Professions Council.
The School is multidisciplinary, with students benefiting from interactions across a range of subject areas – such as biomedical sciences, analytical and medicinal chemistry, forensic science, nutrition, pharmacy practice and pharmaceutical sciences.
