Employers will be given the opportunity to learn about the benefits of ‘upskilling’ their staff at an event at the University on Thursday 30 August. The post graduate open evening and employer event will be held at the Faculty of Health and Social Care, Garthdee Campus, giving employers the chance to learn how to unlock employee potential, develop a stronger workforce and improve business performance.
RGU will be showcasing their range of bite-sized modules and tailored training programmes aimed at building the skills of existing staff in order to improve employee engagement and retention rates. Employers will have the opportunity to discuss their individual requirements with the University’s Business Services and Academic teams and will be shown a short presentation on what RGU can offer them.
Kate Timperley from the Business Marketing team at RGU said, “This is a great opportunity for employers to discover the benefits of developing staff skills. Every individual has their own unique skill set, however as businesses grow and develop there is always room for improvement. By building on the skills of existing employees through flexible learning programmes, employers are increasing potential both in the individual and in the business as a whole. By investing in their staff, employers will also boost staff morale, improve the capability of their workforce and develop a broader skill set without the expense of recruitment. There is no downside to upskilling employees.”
The event will run from 6.30pm to 8.30pm and refreshments will be provided. There will be a short presentation at 6.45pm and 7.45pm, and academic representatives will be on hand for course related queries.
