Third year Fashion Management students from Robert Gordon University’s (RGU) Aberdeen Business School are excited to announce this year’s charity fashion show will take on a ‘Best of British’ theme, bestowing an evening of fashion and entertainment on 25 May 2012 to raise money for children’s charity, The ARCHIE Foundation.
The anticipated 400 strong audience will celebrate the very best of British style and culture with a fashion show, live music and delectable British foods. The fashion show will feature eight themed walks, each highlighting some of the best aspects of Britain including, the British seaside, countryside, music, sport, people, designers, royals and the traditional tea party. Aberdeen’s hottest centres for fashion, the Bon Accord & St. Nicholas centres, will be sponsoring the event with garments supplied by leading high street fashion retailers.
Whilst enjoying the spectacle on offer the audience will have the opportunity to indulge in some of Britain’s finest foods with fish and chips, cupcakes and 99 ice-cream cones on the menu, not to mention lashings of cocktails!
Karen Cross, senior lecturer for BA Fashion Management, said: “This year’s theme was inspired by British culture and is a celebration of all its wonderful attributes. The renowned event made an astonishing £11,000 for the ARCHIE foundation last year and it’s hoped that this years ‘Best of British’ show can raise even more for such a worthy cause”.
The popular annual charity fashion show, now in its 5th year, is looking to raise more money than ever for The ARCHIE Foundation, the official charity of the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital, the Children's Wards in Inverness and Elgin and Community based Child Health throughout Grampian, Highland, Orkney and Shetland. Over the next couple of months Fashion Management students will be carrying out a whole host of fundraising events, from sports walks to pub crawls, bake sales to bucket shaking; all to promote awareness and raise funds for The ARCHIE Foundation! This week saw Archie bear make a surprise visit to the Garthdee Campus to kick start the fundraising efforts where he was warmly welcomed by staff and students of the university, some of whom even took the time to give Archie a quick tour of the campus.
The show, which is open to the public, will take place in the Aberdeen Business School atrium at Robert Gordon University’s Garthdee campus, 25 May 2012.
Tickets are priced at £15, and £25 for VIP package, with all proceeds from the night donated to The ARCHIE Foundation. To book tickets please contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
