New DELTA web goes live
Friday, 05 August, 2011DELTA's new web presence, launched on 5th August.
This news page introduces and explains our new approach.
Web locations and environments
Our front page http://www.rgu.ac.uk/delta is located in Farcry, the University's external-facing web environment. This links to DELTA's detailed content which is located within DELTA's home on CampusMoodle, the University's online learning environment. This approach is designed to make the best use of the two different environments:
- Farcry is openly available on the internet, describing the University, who we are and what we offer, for both external and internal users
- CampusMoodle is designed to support learning. It is the same tool that staff and students use for teaching and learning. It is quick and easy to use, to add or change content or to support interaction. We want DELTA's web content and services to be useful for staff learning
Our content will be changing
Our pages are still under construction. We want to grow content:
- adding new resources to meet users' needs and preferences
- introducing new ideas and topics, sharing ideas both from within the University and from outside
We will try to keep the content structured, signposted and linked as it grows, and we will announce significant changes through DELTA news.
Your content and interactions
Use of CampusMoodle will enable us to provide areas for resources and discussion forums for specific groups e.g. within a faculty or school, or supporting special-interest groups.
Joined-up support services for schools
We are working in partnership with other departments who provide development support and services for staff. Our launch pages include links to resources from the Library, Careers, Human Resources and Records Management and others. We appreciate their collaboration and support.
Your ideas and suggestions
We will welcome:
- comments about the look, content and user-friendliness of our web
- wish-lists of topics, services or support
- offers of topics for case studies (Snapshots) of effective practice
- suggestions of external links that you consider could be useful to share with staff
Please contact Sandra Marnoch in the first instance.
