Institute research seminar to discuss innovation in Agile Software Development
Wednesday, 01 February, 2012Robert Gordon University’s Institute for Innovation, Design and Sustainability Research (IDEAS) will host the latest in a series of digital technology seminars on Friday 3 February at the School of Computing, St Andrew Street, Aberdeen.
During the seminar, primarily aimed at software development professionals, technologists and procurement executives, Dr Julian Bass from the School will explore the results of an international study looking at the effects of agile computing methods on enterprise software development.
Agile methods are a series of techniques used in software development to try and improve product quality and productivity.
Dr Bass explains: “The study into agile methods aims to highlight how innovation in this area can not only speed up work processes but benefit organisations that need to implement important business policies.
“Distributed agile development projects have become a reality in large enterprise. The tailoring of agile methods to fit the precise needs of different organisations has become an important issue. This tailoring reduces software development costs while improving customer satisfaction.”
Dr Bass’s seminar will take place in Room C48, School of Computing, St Andrew Street at 2.15pm on Friday 3 February. Entry is free and open to the public.
