Robert Gordon University’s one day Energy and Oil and Gas Conference 2018 (EOG), in collaboration with The Law School, will focus on the themes of Energy Regulation, Transition and Innovation.

It is now 30 years since the Piper Alpha disaster and subsequent regulatory regimes and practices across the world have evolved from prescription to a goal setting approach. In particular, the rapid development of new and innovative technology required the adaptation of modern regulatory approaches.

Currently, the UK’s energy and oil and gas sectors have undergone significant transitional change due to external and internal factors. Both industry and government are facing both challenges and opportunities to adapt to current conditions.

Various experts and speakers from industry, government, regulators, academia and the legal profession will gather to discuss issues at the nexus between law, regulation, transition and innovation in the energy and oil and gas sectors.

Energy Research Colloquium

As part of the EOG Conference 2018, an Energy Research Colloquium will be held on Tuesday 1 May 2018
