Microcontroller Lab

Our Microcontroller Laboratory can be found in the Sir Ian Wood Building and is mainly used to teach electronics within the School of Computing, Engineering and Technology.

The workspace contains 40 PC workstations equipped with Atmel 8-bit and 32-bit ARM microcontrollers which include the relevant software to allow you to develop computer programs (Microsoft Visual Studio) and develop and debug microcontroller applications (Atmel Studio 7).

You will also be given exposure to 6 bytronic industrial control trainer conveyor belt units, Quansar control systems units and electronics test gear.

All of the equipment available to you will help to facilitate the practice-based skills required for professional roles.
