Duties and Responsibilities

Dr. Emmanuelle Rey-Marmonier is a Lecturer in Leadership and Organisational Development in the People, Organisations and Practice Department at Aberdeen Business School.

Emmanuelle is looking after the delivery of the Business School CMI accredited courses (CMI Strategic Management and Leadership, and CMI Coaching and Mentoring).

She has contributed to the delivery of various undergraduate and postgraduate courses and PhD supervision in the School since 2008. She is currently coordinating several modules, including People Management and Organisational Development for MBA students (BSM154), and Leadership for fourth year students (BS4220). She has been Course Leader for the online MBA programmes in 2010 and 2011, in charge of designing an interactive online Induction module and of dynamising staff engagement within the online delivery mode. She is active in the community on topics related to women in business. 

Academic Background

Emmanuelle graduated with an MSc in Socio-Economic Management from the University Lyon 3 (France), an MBA from New Mexico State University (USA) and a PhD on the Management of Deviant and Inefficient Behaviours from University Lyon 3 and the ISEOR research centre (France).

She has previously worked for ISEOR, a French research centre specialized in socio-economic management, where she has practiced professional training in leadership and change management in different companies of the service sector (in France and in Belgium).

Emmanuelle has previous experience in teaching at University level in France (University Jean Moulin Lyon 3).

Research Interests

Emmanuelle’s research interests focus on leadership. More specifically, Emmanuelle's contributions include research on the management of deviant behaviours, on the role of line managers, on managerial ethics, and more recently on women and leadership. 

Emmanuelle is currently looking at the impacts of intensive leadership development workshops on the perception of ethical team leadership practices. She is also engaging in projects involving the study of the impacts of female leaders.

Also working on a project with Professor Elizabeth Gammie, with funding from the University forum for Human Resource Development (UF HRD):

Professional women’s networks as a tool for HRD: what are their objectives and how do they grow?  A preliminary study with two professional women’s networks based in Aberdeen, Scotland.
