BN (Hons) Community Health
The role of the nurse in the community in Scotland is an evolving one, but it is a role that is built on the solid foundations of currently recognised community roles throughout the UK and beyond, namely, District Nursing and Specialist Community Public Health Nursing.
The practice based elements of the course allow you to undertake practice in the specific area you have chosen to specialise in and will have the opportunity to explore and apply theoretical concepts that you have studied and relate them to your own area of practice supported by a Practice Teacher.
This course is aimed at Health Visitors, School Nurses, District Nurses and Community Nurses.
STAGE 1
Community Health, Evidence-Informed Decision making for Community Health Practice
STAGE 2
Contemporary Practice for Community Health, Practice-based Learning for Community Health, two 15 credit SCOTCAT modules depending on route chosen
This course is ideal for registered nurses with two or more years experience, plus experience of working in the community.
