1. What you will study

  • Pathophysiology of planned and unplanned wounds. Contemporary research relating to wound management.
  • Wound management options.
  • How to assess, plan implement and evaluate the holistic care of patients and wounds.
  • Reflection in relation to their own wound management practice.

2. How you will learn

The module is delivered using a blend of face to face (1 single study day & online chats) and online methods (virtual classroom and discussion forums). Students will engage with directed and self-directed learning activities supported by the module team.

3. Entry Requirements

This module is suitable for registered nurses and allied health care professionals who work with communities or with people with challenging wounds. This module is particularly useful if you have had a break in studying, due to the high levels of clinical applicability.

Normally, applicants are expected to be able to demonstrate HND level study; however, if this is not the case, interested individuals are encouraged to make contact and discuss their circumstances.
