Online Masters Nursing Degree MN

1. Overview

M Nursing (Nurse Led Practice)

If you are a qualified nurse, this Masters in Nursing course will prepare you to confidently step into a contemporary nursing practice role that demands decision-making, self-directed practice and leadership skills.

The Masters in Nursing is innovative in its approach, with a strong emphasis on practice based learning, allowing you to apply your new knowledge to your own area of practice.

Learning will occur both individually and within a group environment, with formal and informal discussion forums taking place with your student peers though the Virtual Campus.

If you don't want to commit to studying a full Masters degree, you can complete single modules and qualify for either a Postgraduate Certificate or a Postgraduate Diploma.

2. What you will study

This Masters in Nursing will examine the following key areas:

  • Leadership and Advanced Levels of Practice
  • Evidence Informed Practice
  • Professional Knowledge for Nurse Led Practice
  • Practice Led Development and Change Management

There is also a practice-based component that enables you to explore and apply theoretical concepts that relate to your own area of practice.

An optional week's summer school is also held in May to help consolidate and support your learning. During this week there will be a Showcase Evening that nurse leaders and managers from NHS Boards across Scotland attend to hear about your innovative project work.

Many of our students have developed tools that are now making a real difference to the quality and effectiveness of patient care.

3. Entry requirements

This course is ideal for registered nurses with a degree and normally 2 or more years of experience.
