If you are a qualified nurse, this Masters in Nursing course will prepare you to confidently step into a contemporary nursing practice role that demands decision-making, self-directed practice and leadership skills.
It is particularly aimed at Senior Charges Nurses and Nurse Managers within the United Kingdom; or International Practitioners, in similar roles who wish to remain in their own country and undertake Master’s level study within a UK Higher Education Institution.
The Masters in Nursing is innovative in its approach, delivered completely online using our virtual learning environment CampusMoodle, allowing the flexibility over the timing and access of the content with a strong emphasis on practice based learning, allowing you to apply your new knowledge to your own area of practice.
Learning will occur both individually and within a group environment, with formal and informal discussion forums taking place with your student peers though Campus Moodle.
There are exit points within this award to allow you to exit with a post graduate certificate, diploma or an MSc.
This course is designed for nurses to lead change and develop leadership skills to enable the transformation of health and social care services. This course is designed for you to:
There is also a practice-based component that enables you to explore and apply theoretical concepts that relate to your own area of practice.
Many of our students have developed tools that are now making a real difference to the quality and effectiveness of patient care.
The course is unique in that it allows the student to explore the nurse led practice dimension of modern health and social care, and acquire the necessary knowledge and skills for effective implementation within their specialist zone of professional practice. The course is driven by a philosophy that is student centred; progressive; process driven and practice focused. Although the online modular content is generic in nature, the student will be able to apply the theory within their own modern healthcare service. Therefore the degree is embedded in a practice-based learning approach.
This course is ideal for registered nurses with a degree and normally 2 or more years of experience.
A good honours degree is required in a relevant subject. Applicants having a degree or degree equivalent qualification and relevant work experience at a suitable level within an organisation for an appropriate length of time may be considered, as may qualifications from an approved professional body. Nurses at the point of registration will be considered if they meet the required academic criteria.
All international students, for whom English is not their first language, must provide evidence of linguistic ability by gaining either IELTS 6.5 or its equivalent in TOEFL prior to receiving an unconditional offer of a place on the course.
