In the Research Assessment Exercise (2008) eight out of eleven subjects submitted were classed as world leading research. Subjects that performed particularly well include art and design, architecture, library and information management, business, management studies, and computing.
There is a variety of reasons why you may want to undertake a research degree. For example, you may require a postgraduate research degree to progress in your chosen career or you may simply want to continue study in an area which interests you.
