Erasmus

In order to apply for an Erasmus study period at RGU, you must complete an online application form and a Learning Agreement.

Applications for the 2017/18 Academic Session are not currently open.

Important

Erasmus students applying to Aberdeen Business School only must provide evidence of English language skills when applying. Most applicants submit either an IELTS or IBT TOEFL score. The scores required are as follows:

For Undergraduate Courses

  • IELTS Overall band score of 6.0 or better
  • IBT TOEFL Minimum of 80 (20 minimum in writing)

For Postgraduate Courses

  • IELTS Overall band score of 6.5 or better
  • IBT TOEFL Minimum of 90 (24 minimum in writing)

Non Erasmus Students from the EU

You may apply to attend RGU for a study period (i.e. to obtain ECTS credits to take back to your home institution), even if your institution does not have a link under the Erasmus Programme.

However, if you are accepted, you will be expected to pay tuition fees.

For undergraduate programmes, current fees are:

  • £1,820 for a whole Academic Session
  • £910 for one semester

Important

Aberdeen Business School cannot currently accept non-Erasmus students at undergraduate level. If you wish to undertake a study period at Postgraduate or Masters level, please contact us with details of the course you wish to study.

How to Apply

Project Work Students


To apply to undertake a period of project work at Robert Gordon University, you must apply by using the Online Application form (Firefox only). Please note that you will have to complete the Registration before you can apply, this can be found on the right hand side of the Online Application form page.

After your application has been submitted online, it will be automatically submitted to RGU and you should receive an email within 5 working days to confirm receipt.  If you have not received an email within this timescale please email erasmus@rgu.ac.uk.

Please note applications will not be considered without the required enclosures, including the Associate Student Registration Form (International Office) (PDF 35KB)

Applications should be submitted at least 6 weeks before your project work is due to start.

Erasmus Work Placement Students

In order to apply for an Erasmus work placement either at RGU or arranged by RGU, you must complete an online application form and a Learning Agreement.

Erasmus Registration Procedures

General Information

Incoming Erasmus Students must complete and submit an Application form and an ECTS Learning Agreement to apply for an Erasmus study period at RGU.

Deadlines

  • 01 June for students arriving in Semester 1
  • 01 November for students arriving in Semester 2

Applications can only be submitted online.  Students need to upload a letter of motivation, transcript of records and recent photographs before the application can be submitted.  Other documentation may be required, depending on which academic School you are applying to.  Further information is provided in the online portal. 

Once a student’s application has been accepted and processed, the student will receive a letter from Student Admissions along with an information booklet about studying in Aberdeen. This letter will include the student's reference number which will allow them to apply for accommodation online at www.rgu.ac.uk/roomonline.

Linguistic Requirements

All Erasmus students are expected to have a level of competence in English to allow them to attend lectures, undertake course-work and examinations, both oral and written.

School of Nursing and Midwifery - Requirements for Incoming Students

If you are applying to undertake an Erasmus study period with the School of Nursing and Midwifery, you are required to provide the following in addition to the online application form and RGU ECTS Learning Agreement:

1. Evidence of your vaccination against:

  • Hepatitis B
  • Rubella
  • Varicella Zoster
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Polio
  • BCG (or Mantoux test, if BCG not given in your home country)
  • Meningitis C (if you are under 25) 

2. A Police or Criminal Records check

3. 2 Character references

Exchange Students from Outside the EU

In order to apply for an exchange study period at RGU, you must complete an online application form and a Learning Agreement.
