Robert Gordon University offers scholarships to full-time, on-campus International students and full fee paying students from the rest of the United Kingdom outside of Scotland (RUK students).

The scholarships are available on a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

The maximum total amount of scholarships available to an individual student will be £3,000 for students from an approved Partner Institution and £2,500 for direct entry students.

Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship

Level of Study

First Year of any on-campus Undergraduate Programme.

Value of Award

Full tuition fee scholarship for first year of study.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Have received an offer and selected RGU as their firm choice for any full time undergraduate programme 
  • Hold or expect to achieve three A-levels at grade A (or equivalent qualifications) 
  • Be classed by the University as an international fee payer for tuition fee payment. 
  • Must be a self-funded student

How to Apply and Deadlines

  • Applicants must submit a scholarship application form, including a 500 words  statement of support. The Scholarship Panel would expect applicants to highlight why they should be considered for the award.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a telephone or skype interview. 
  • Deadline for application: 1 July 2017. Successful candidates will be informed by 1 August 2017.

RGU Undergraduate Award

£1,000 towards first year of undergraduate tuition fee

Eligibility Criteria

  • Have received an offer and selected RGU as their firm choice for any full time undergraduate programme and met the standard and advertised academic entry criteria
  • Be classed by the University as an international fee payer for tuition fee payment, or fee paying student from rest of UK
  • Must be a self-funded student

How to Apply and Deadlines

  • Applicants are not required to submit a scholarship application. 
  • Applicants who satisfy the academic offer, will automatically receive this award. The award will be indicated in the Letter of Offer from the University.

RGU Postgraduate Awards

Level of Study

First Year of any on-campus Postgraduate Programme.

Value of Award

RGU Undergraduate High Achiever Scholarship

Value of Award

£1,000 towards of undergraduate taught tuition fee

Eligibility Criteria

  • Have received an offer and selected RGU as their firm choice for any full time undergraduate programme
  • Hold at least one of three A-levels at grade A (or equivalent qualifications)
  • Be classed by the University as an international fee payer for tuition fee payment
  • Must be a self-funded student
  • Successful applicants will be awarded a total of £2,000 (RGU International Undergraduate Award + RGU Undergraduate High Achiever Scholarship)

How to Apply and Deadlines

  • Applicants are not required to submit a separate scholarship application.
  • Applicants who achieve at least one of three A-levels at grade A (or equivalent qualifications) will be put forward to the Scholarship Panel for a decision.
  • The Scholarships are allocated to applicants on the basis of their academic merit, strength of statement of purpose and reference.
  • Deadline for application: 1 July 2017.

RGU Postgraduate High Achiever Scholarship

Level of Study

First Year of any on-campus postgraduate taught programme.

Value of Award

£1,000 towards of postgraduate taught tuition fee

Eligibility Criteria

  • Have received an offer from RGU and achieved a 2:1 or above undergraduate degree classification or equivalent international qualification 
  • Be classed by the University as an international fee payer for tuition fee payment 
  • Must be a self-funded student 
  • Successful applicants will be awarded a total of £2,000 (RGU Postgraduate Award + RGU Postgraduate High Achiever Scholarship)

How to Apply and Deadlines

  • Applicants are not required to submit a separate scholarship application. 
  • Applicants must meet the University’s entry requirement and hold an offer of study. 
  • Applicants who achieve a 2:1 undergraduate degree classification or equivalent international qualification will be put forward to the Scholarship Panel for a decision. 
  • The Scholarships are allocated to applicants on the basis of their academic merit, strength of statement of purpose and reference. 
  • Deadline for application : 1 July 2017, for September 2017 intake.
  • Deadline: 30 November 2017, for January 2018 intake.

Early Payment Award

Level of Study

For first-year of any on-campus undergraduate programme and on-campus postgraduate taught programme.

Value of Award

£500

Eligibility Criteria

  • Have received an offer from RGU
  • Be classed by the University as an international fee payer for tuition fee payment 
  • Must be a self-funded student 

How to Apply and Deadlines

  • Available to students who pay their tuition fee deposit by 31 July 2017.
  • Applicants are not required to submit an application, the award will be automatically be applied to the balance of your tuition fees after any deposits have been paid.

Course Fees

Robert Gordon University is delighted to now offer a 20% loyalty discount on course fees for all alumni who have graduated from RGU.

How do you claim your discount?

When applying for your course, the application form will ask if you completed a qualification at the University. Once we have checked and confirmed your qualification is eligible for discount, we will then automatically reduce your fees by the appropriate amount.  

The small print

The 20% discount applies to both home and overseas alumni of Robert Gordon University who are commencing study, on campus or online, from April 2016 onwards. It can only be applied to first-year tuition fees and cannot be used to cover any other programme-related expenses (e.g. residential costs, materials or membership fees). The discount rate applies to an individual whether they are sponsored or self-funded.  However, it cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer (for example scholarships/awards/corporate schemes/preferential rates).  The discount also cannot be received as a cash refund against the full cost of a course.

Terms and Conditions

  • University awards, scholarships and discounts will be applied to the final tuition fee instalment payment
  • The maximum amount of combined award, scholarship and discount available to any student is £3000
  • The Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship cannot be combined with any other award, scholarship or discount
  • Alumni discounts will be awarded to a student once
  • Discounts will be awarded at the discretion of the University
  • The most beneficial award for each student, the higher of the sum of the award, scholarship or the Alumni discount, will be applied.
  • RGU Scholarships and Awards are for self-funded students only.
