Garthdee Library

Schools based at our Garthdee campus are served by The Georgina Scott Sutherland Library, a striking building designed by renowned architect Lord Norman Foster. Home to several University collections, the Library also frequently hosts exhibitions.

Georgina Scott Sutherland Library at GarthdeeFacilities include:

  • Wide range of books and journals plus fast access to databases, ebooks and other online resources
  • Quiet study areas
  • Meeting rooms for group work
  • IT and printing facilities
  • Wireless internet access

There is an extensive collection of books, journals and DVDs available to borrow, and the university subscribes to a number of e-books, online journals and databases. If we do not have the book or journal that you require, an inter-library loan can usually be arranged.

IT Facilities

There are computers located on each floor of the library; these can be used at any time that the library is open. Both black and white and colour printers are available.

Slides and Antiquarian Collection

The library holds an extensive collection of slides and a collection of antiquarian books.
