Study Skills and Access Unit
Are you interested in computers and technology? Do you want to find out how computers work and how you can build and program a computer to do a specific task?
This programme, which assumes no previous programming experience, will introduce you to a range of skills in computing. Classes will take place in our state-of-the-art laboratories and each week you will build on previous knowledge by working in small groups on practical, interactive tasks. The final activity in the programme will be to design, build and test a real-time sensor and showcase your work.
Topics to be covered include:
- Programming fundamentals
- Creating simple graphical user interfaces
- Computer anatomy
- Sensors and controls using Arduino
- Communication devices
Where: The Sir Ian Wood Building, RGU, Garthdee Campus
When: Tuesday 4.30 - 6.30 September-November
