Trauma Management

Aberdeen was one of the first places in the UK to provide specialist care for trauma victims and their families following the Piper Alpha oil platform disaster in 1988. Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen specialises in delivering customised training and education programmes to the international oil, gas and energy sector. A particular area of focus is Health, Safety and Environment. The Aberdeen Centre for Trauma Research (ACTR) offers a one-day course in Basic Trauma Management.

The Basic Trauma Management Course offers an introduction into the various impacts that trauma has on individuals and organisations. Professionals most likely to benefit from this course are therefore HR Directors, HSE Directors, Senior Management in Business Continuity and Corporate Communications, and Management with responsibility for staff travelling and working in regions with security and risk issues.
