Professor Brian J Webster is the Head of School and is also extensively involved outwith the university by serving as a Chair of the Scottish Heads of Academic Nursing and Allied Health Professions (SHANAHP). In addition, Brian is an Executive Member of the Council of Deans of Health, External Examiner at Edinburgh Napier University (2011 - present) and University of Manchester (2007 – 2011). Also, he is a member of NHS Education Scotland Boards (Programme Board, Strategic Practice learning Group, Professional Advisory Board). Brian is involved with the Lead for Graduate Project – in partnership with NHS Education Scotland and Chief Nursing Officer, Patients, Public and Health Professions Directorate. He has also served as a Member of NMC Reference Group on Student Indexing (2011 – 2012)

Research interests include alcohol use amongst higher education students, alcohol policy, alcohol and nurse education, screening and brief interventions.
