Academic Background

Dr Tu is a Reader in the School of Computing Science and Digital Media at the Robert Gordon University. Before joining RGU, she worked for Nottingham Trent University and Glyndwr University as a Senior Lecturer.  

Dr Tu was an IRCSET Embark Initiative Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Computer Science at University College Cork.

Dr Tu received her PhD from the Department of Computer Science at the City University of Hong Kong. She was also a Visiting Research Fellow of the University of New South Wales and a research exchange academic with the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

 

Research Interests/Professional Background

 Dr. Tu’s research interests are in Computer Networks and Communications Systems, and are focused on (but not limited to) 

  • Multimedia networking, including multicast, QoS/QoE, performance evaluation, admission control, traffic control, etc.;-
  • Wireless multi-hop networking, including wireless mesh networks, wireless sensor networks, efficient resource utilizations, etc.;-
  • Parallel and distributed systems, including peer-to-peer computing, overlay networks, topology inference, parallel and distributed wireless
