Key Duties and Responsibilities
In addition to his teaching and School Management responsibilities, he has been involved in a number of roles at the Robert Gordon University, including the Board of Governors (as Academic Staff Governor), Academic Council, the Academic Regulations Subcommittee, IT Advisory Group, Moodle Project Board and the Faculty of Design & Technology Placement Group. He is heavily involved in promoting and developing industry sponsored scholarships in the School of Engineering.
Academic Background
Grant Maxwell joined the Robert Gordon Institute of Technology (RGIT) in 1983, having previously lectured at Essex University and the University of the West Indies in Trinidad. Prior to this, he studied at Edinburgh University and Essex University. He has been Associate Head of theSchool of Engineering since 2004.
Research Interests / Professional Background
His research interests include Evolutionary Artificial Neural Networks and novel training methods for Artificial Neural Networks.
Teaching Interests
He is involved in teaching Computer Engineering and Software Development for Engineering Applications (including Embedded Systems).
