Duties and Responsibilities
Role and Background
Dr Simone Kurtzke is a lecturer in Communication, Marketing and Media and her main areas of teaching and research are digital and social media marketing. She worked in the digital industry for eleven years (both agency and client-side) and joined RGU in September 2013.
Simone teaches on Scotland's first practice-based Masters in Digital Marketing where she is the module co-ordinator for Digital Marketing Strategy and Digital PR. She also teaches in the areas of International Marketing, Marketing planning and strategy and related subjects. In addition, Simone supervises at Masters and PhD level.

Simone holds a BA in English / Women's Studies and an MA in Digital Moving Image from London Guildhall University. Her PhD from Edinburgh’s Queen Margaret University investigated online video and its production and consumption from 1998-2005 – the area of ‘web 1.0′, just before the breakthrough of YouTube (2006) and the advent of social media.
Her research interests are digital consumer behaviour and the use of digital communications for reputation management.
