Tahar is a Senior Lecturer in Architectural Technology.

Duties and Responsibilities

Tahar is Programme Leader for all Undergraduate courses; Architecture, Architectural Technology, Construction Management and Surveying

Academic Background

Tahar is a Chartered Architectural Technologist and Programme Leader of Undergraduate courses at the Robert Gordon University. He trained as an architect then obtained an MPhil in architectural and environmental studies from Oxford Brookes University. After a short period in professional practice as design then project architect in the UK and overseas,he has had 18 years of teaching and research experience. Architectural digital design, design management, Building Information Modelling (BIM) and construction technology are his areas of interest both in teaching and research.

Tahar has contributed to a number of national and local research projects related to the education of Architecture and Architectural Technology in the UK and the application of digital technology in Built Environment SMEs.

He has published internationally and contributed to the UK BIM Academic Forum and the International Congress of Architectural Technology (ICAT) as board member and conference proceedings editor. He co-authored a book entitled "Getting to Grips with BIM: A Guide for Small and Medium-sized Architecture, Engineering and Construction Firms" published in December 2015.
