Duties and Responsibilities

Dr Kishk is the Group Lead of Operations Management and a Senior Lecturer in Project Management within Aberdeen Business School. This is a Subject Leader role involving the management of 15+ academic staff focused on the areas of Operations, Project, Quality, and Supply Chain Management.

He has an extensive industrial experience as a Civil Engineer, Software Developer, Project Manager, Senior Structural Engineer, Senior Consultant, Manger and a Director for an international Engineering Consulting firm. Duties within these roles included, among others, conceptual and detailed design, resource management, quality assurance, cost management, staff line-management, staff development, feasibility studies, customer care, planning and strategic management.

Educational Development

  • Development, quality assurance, leadership and delivery of numerous post graduate modules being delivered within various postgraduate programmes in the Scott Sutherland School, School of Engineering and Aberdeen Business School. Examples include Asset Management, Asset Life Cycle Analysis, Petroleum Economics, Engineering Management, Energy Management, Risk and Safety Management, Whole-Life Costing, Decision Making, Project Management, Strategic Management and Business Development.
  • Played a pivotal role in the development of the MSc Asset Integrity Management as a unique collaboration between the Scott Sutherland School and School of Engineering at the Robert Gordon University.
  • Course development and past leadership of MSc Commercial Practice in the Energy Sectors.

  • Conceptual design and development of a skills audit database for an international HE client through UNIVATION.
  • Conceptual design and Development of Course Management Software for UNIVATION to manage the Technology and Development Fund programme for an International client through UNIVATION.
  • Conceptual design and Development of Course Management Software for the Department for the Enhancement of Learning, Teaching and Assessment (DELTA) at the Robert Gordon University to manage its PgCert HELT Course.
  • Designing, writing and delivering bespoke short corporate courses for the likes of PetroChina, ASCO, PDVSA, Sonatrach, Aberdeenshire Council and Apache.

Research Interests

Dr Kishk is an established member of the Institute for Innovation, Design and Sustainability (IDEAS) at the Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen. . He has published more than 75 academic and professional papers in the areas of whole-life costing, asset management, risk management, project management, operations management, sustainability and structural analysis.
