Gavin is an eLearning Adviser at the School of Nursing & Midwifery in Aberdeen. His primary role is to advise and support academic staff in the use of elearning technology such as Moodle, ePortfolio, the Personal Response System and multi-media equipment.  Gavin also creates interactive elearning materials in Flash or HTML5 for online modules and commercial projects such as the Collaborative Outcomes Learning Tool (COLT) for Police Scotland.  In 2016, the school saw the launch of the online Scottish Ongoing Acheivement Record (OAR) using Myprogress from My Knowledge Map where Gavin was the key technical lead within the school.

In addition, Gavin also provides staff development in the use of elearning technologies such as the GradeMark, video capture techniques, mobile apps and online activities.  In 2015, Gavin became a member of the national Risk Resource steering group providing advice on creating an interactive online tool.
