James spent a few years in IT based recruitment in the private sector whilst he gained his CIPD qualification and then moved into the NHS where he spent an informative few years working on recruitment initially but eventually broadening out into a more general HR role that encompassed Agenda for Change.

Relocating to Scotland, James worked for a number of years at a local authority in various HR roles, encompassing generalist HR work and latterly focusing on strategic projects.
