Eyad is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Computing Science and Digital Media, Robert Gordon University (RGU) and he is the Course Leader for the MSc Data Science postgraduate programme.

His primary research interests lie in machine learning, machine vision, data analytics and 3D geometric modelling and representation.

Eyad attracted funds to support his research from different resources including Technology Strategy Board (TSB)/Innovate UK, the Data Lab Innovation Centre and Oil and Gas Innovation Centre (OGIC). He is leading several projects with industrial partners across different domains including Construction, Sports Science, Oil and Gas and Health.

He obtained his first degree in Computer Science in 1999. In 2004, he was awarded an MSc in Software Engineering with distinction from the University of Bradford-UK. In 2005, Eyad was granted a fully funded PhD studentship from the University of Bradford, and in 2008 he was awarded a PhD for his thesis on 3D modelling, representation and recognition of human faces.

Dr. Elyan is a Fellow member of the British Higher Education Academy. He served as a Program Committee member for several international conferences and as a reviewer for several international journals in the area of machine vision, machine learning and data analytics.
