Duties and Responsibilities

Steph is a lecturer for the MSc Health, Safety and Risk Management programme, and is involved in the delivery of undergraduate, postgraduate and online programmes.

Previously employed as a Health and Safety Adviser within Higher Education for 11 years, prior to which having worked as a QC Chemist, a Biologist and as an Asbestos Analyst and Surveyor.

Academic Background

Has a BSc (Hons) from Aberystwyth University, a PgDip HSRM from Strathclyde University and an MSc HSRM from RGU. Currently working on her PhD Project (2017-2022) with the Aberdeen Business School on management leadership styles and safety outcomes in the offshore oil and gas industry.

Research Interests

Safety management, safety culture, employee engagement and wellbeing, crisis management, business continuity, and behavioural safety.  Currently working on her PhD Project (2017-2022) with the Aberdeen Business School on management leadership styles and safety outcomes in the offshore oil and gas industry.
