Duties and Responsibilities
Lyndsay Bloice is a Research Assistant specialising in Social Science research. She has previously worked as an Assistant Language Teacher and Associate Lecturer in Japan. Lyndsay graduated from Napier University in 2006 with an honours degree in Journalism and has written for the Aberdeen Press and Journal.
Lyndsay completed the MSc in Information and Library Studies at Robert Gordon University, graduating with Distinction in July 2013. Her Masters’ thesis is entitled: “The benefits and limitations of managing knowledge: A case study examination into staff perceptions of knowledge practices in a not-for-profit, social care organisation”. She is currently a Doctoral Researcher within the Department of Information Management, researching the links between KM and organisational success in the Third Sector.
June 2015 – May 2018: SPARA 2020 (Smart Peripheral and Remote Airports). Project Manager for RGU and part of the team conducting qualitative research into the social and cultural importance of small airports to local communities.
January 2015 – June 2016: RiCORE (Risk Based Consenting of Offshore Renewable Energy), a Horizon 2020 project. Communications Co-ordinator.
Partnership with ACVO (Aberdeen Council of Voluntary Organisations) for the #10Aberdeenstories project.
Research into Knowledge Management in alternative contexts, including the third sector and social care.
Research into the impact of REF impact on the LIS domain.
Research into Twitter linked content during the Scottish referendum televised debates.
June 2014 – June 2015: Analysis and report preparation for: Aberdeen City Council, Community Planning Aberdeen, and other project partners based on data gathered from the triannual “Aberdeen City Voice” questionnaires.
Research into employability and assurance of learning in business schools.
Support for RGU’s 2014 Research Review.
Support for the IMaGeS REF (Research Excellence Framework) 2014 submission, with particular focus on development of impact case studies.
Support for the 2014 Socio-Legal Studies Association conference.
Research into Information Literacy in SMEs, including the development of an analysis framework to gauge SME competency in providing information online.
