Heather is the Interim Course Leader for Masters Courses and the CPD Portfolio and is currently studying for a Doctorate of Education at Stirling University, exploring the unique forms of knowing in district nursing practice and the processes of professional learning. She is also:
- The Chairperson of the Association of District Nurse Educators;
- A Member of Non-Medical Prescribing Group to develop policy and framework for non medical prescribing, NHS Grampian;
- A Nursing and Midwifery Council accredited reviewer;
- An External Examiner at University of Ulster and Glasgow Caledonian University;
- Pathway Lead District Nursing
- A member of Modernising Nursing in the Community - NHS Education for Scotland Sub Group; and
- A member of National Network of Non Medical Prescribing.
