The Careers Fair is a key recruitment event for students and graduates of Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen.

Organised by Careers Centre, Robert Gordon University and University of Aberdeen this is your opportunity to network with graduate recruiters across a wide range of sectors to understand what talent they are looking for in 2013.

Whether you are a first year, a finalist or a recent graduate we encourage you to attend this annual event and connect with local, national and international businesses seeking not only to secure the best graduating talent but also to discuss their placements, vacation, part-time and voluntary work.

The North of Scotland Graduate Recruitment Fair will be held on Wednesday 24 April 2013 at Music Hall, Aberdeen from 11am to 3pm

The North of Scotland Graduate Recruitment Fair regularly attracts over 40 local national and international organisations keen to recruit students in the North East of Scotland.

Robert Gordon University invites you to attend North of Scotland Graduate Recruitment Fair. This annual fair is organised in partnership with University of Aberdeen and is open to all students from all disciplines and year groups from both Universities.

We hope that you will join us for this key recruitment event for both Robert Gordon University and University of Aberdeen students and recent graduates:

  • There are 50 Stands are available on a first come, first serve basis
  • Over 5000 students in the North East of Scotland are due to graduate in 2013
  • When we organised the event in 2011 over 1800 students attended

Your Guide

Your guide to making the most of the fair

Graduate careers fairs are important events for you to network with graduate employers.  They provide you with the opportunity to learn more about their vacancies, how to apply and why you should work for them.

 

Prior to the Careers Fair we recommend that you: 

1. Review the Attending Employers on the fair website - http://www.rgu.ac.uk/graduatefair

2. Research companies/organisations you are interested in

3. Prepare a copy of your CV.

    Review the online CV training materials 

    Refer to the Careers Handbook - CVs section 

    Attend a drop in session to discuss your final draft


On the day :

1. Dress appropriately for the event - First Impressions Count

2. Research - Identify the location of the employers that you want to meet.

3. Network - Find out information, get advice and build your contacts

4. Sell Yourself - understand your skills and talk confidently about your degree, projects and relevant work experience.

5. Update your CV - Provide a copy of your CV to the Employer.
