Scotland international football player Rachel Corsie is enjoying continuing her sport while studying for a degree in Accounting and Finance as part of the RGU SPORT Scholarship Programme.

Rachel CorsieRachel captained Scotland’s under-19s women’s team to the finals of the UEFA European Women’s Championship in France last year and cites the Scholarship Programme as a big support in helping to achieve both her sporting and academic goals.

As a scholar, Rachel benefits from a package of tailor-made programmes devised to support her needs, sports discipline and academic course requirements, with sponsorship from Technip. She believes this has helped to improve her game and commented, "The support from the Programme has been excellent and has really helped me to combine my football commitments along with my studies."

As well as enjoying success in her own sporting career, Rachel uses her talents to help other young people gain satisfaction from participating in sports by volunteering as a Street Sports Assistant. Street Sport is an innovative sports project which has cut complaints of youth anti-social behaviour in parts of Aberdeen by up to 66%.
